Women are still underrepresented in the management floors – this is the case nationwide and is no different in Munich. And that doesn’t just apply to top management. Female managers are also often the exception at the level of department heads or team leaders. Networks for women want to change this. They usually work throughout Germany, and often have a particularly large number of active members in Munich, simply because there are particularly attractive companies and universities here. “Working mums are my favorite, I feel at home there,” says Dagmar Nietzer, for example. She is an entrepreneur and business angel – which means that she supports entrepreneurs with know-how, contacts or money. Nietzer is active in several Munich networks. She is also enthusiastic about Fidar, an alliance that campaigns for more women on supervisory boards.
