It can be seen as a special token of love that the children of publisher Hubert Burda, Elisabeth (32) and Jacob (34), sang the Badnerlied with their father at the summer festival on the occasion of the announcement that they would “actively take up” their role as shareholders. It is the regional anthem of the region in southwest Germany, from which the federal state of Baden-Württemberg owes the first part of its name, the place where the cradle of the publishing house stands. Other people in their early thirties would probably not have stood in front of the more than 1000 guests in the Bavarian capital of Munich, either for kind words or for money, to belt out with their father: “The most beautiful country in Germany, that is my Badnerland. Come on, come on, my Badnerland”.
