“If you take politics seriously, you create places where you can meet people,” says Carmen Wegge. The 32-year-old Social Democrat has represented the Starnberg-Germering constituency in the Bundestag since the end of September – but she doesn’t only work in Berlin. She recently opened her first of three planned constituency offices in Starnberg. The fourth episode of the SZ podcast “From Starnberg to Berlin” is therefore an “Ode to the constituency office”.

Is it allowed to sit down anywhere in the plenary hall and is there a dress code? Carmen Wegge has answers.

Instead of “Oh Tannenbaum”, the three-minute slam text says “Oh constituency office” and Wegge vividly reports how she had to think about rental prices in the region when looking for a suitable property, why there is a plant in this office and which inquiries the Starnberg mailbox you spit out. She promises: “I answer everyone!”

At the beginning it was about white sneakers in the plenary hall. Episode 2 is a slam text for the constituent meeting and the third part is about the compatibility of job and family.
