Bundesliga Union – Stuttgart: Compensation in the 90th! THE VfB goal of hope – Bundesliga

VfB Stuttgart is fighting against relegation from the Bundesliga: A week after the 3-2 win over Gladbach, the penultimate table also scored in Berlin – 1-1 at Union. Sasa Kalajdzic scores just before the end, saves a point.

Without four professionals suffering from Corona (Andreas Luthe, Genki Haraguchi, Levan Öztunali and Kevin Behrens), not much is going on at Union at the beginning. Relegation candidate Stuttgart is offensive but even more harmless.

Then Prömel flicks the ball in the direction of the VfB goal. He hits Konstantinos Mavropanos in the penalty area on the arm. The Greek caused the third penalty in 2022 (twice handball, once foul play). Taiwo Awoniyi safely sunk from the point – 1:0 (41st). The first penalty goal in the Bundesliga for the Nigerian! It’s Union’s first penalty since November 2019 that was converted and NOT shot by Max Kruse. Awoniyi draws level with the current Wolfsburg player, both have scored 16 goals for Union.

When Union wants to bring victory over time, Stuttgart strikes. Shortly before the end, Kalajdzic sunk an input from Sosa to make it 1-1 (90th).
