Bundesliga: six goals for Leipzig – record for Florian Wirtz – sport

RB Leipzig – Hertha BSC 6: 0 (3: 0), goals: 1-0 Nkunku (16th), 2-0 Poulsen (23rd), 3-0 Mukiele (45th + 3), 4-0 Forsberg (60th, penalty kick), 5-0 Nkunku (70th), 6th : 0 Haidara (77.)

Oh yeah, is it that simple? Just copy the system from the previous year and it’s up and running? Leipzig’s new coach Jesse Marsch has set up against Hertha BSC in the same way as his predecessor Julian Nagelsmann would have done: back triple chain, front a striker. But it doesn’t matter if it works so well: Christopher Nkunku took the lead earlier, followed by a second one afterwards by Yussuf Poulsen, who replaced André Silva in the starting line-up. The Leipzig lecture suddenly seemed much more relaxed than in the previous weeks. Was it the new, old system? Perhaps also on the opponent, who did not do much to wrest this game from the Leipzigers. In the end it was bitter for Hertha: 3-0, 4-0, 5-0, 6-0. A Leipzig hit was even denied.

Bayer Leverkusen has so far been a quick starter in the young season: in the opening quarter of an hour, they scored seven goals in five games. As a precaution, the Mainz team touched quicksand early on: the faster the Leverkusen team ran up, the harder they ran. The more dangerous actions belonged to Mainz – especially over standards. When the concentration of the guests waned briefly, Florian Wirtz was ready. The 1-0 goal was already his tenth Bundesliga goal, at the age of 18 and 139 days he replaced Lukas Podolski (18 years 353 days) as the youngest player in this category. For Mainz it was the third goal they conceded this season – also because they struggled afterwards and tried to make it 1-1. But without success.

Eintracht Frankfurt – 1. FC Köln 1: 1 (1: 1), goals: 0: 1 Skhiri (14th), 1: 1 Borre (45th + 6)

Again no victory for Eintracht Frankfurt, not even on the sixth matchday of the still young season, but already the fifth draw. Winning is also difficult when you make it that easy for your opponent. The early Cologne opening goal was such a case: Long ball, Jonas Hector put it with the tip of his foot in the middle, Ellyes Skhiri stood there – the 1-0, very simple. Frankfurt was able to equalize deep in stoppage time in the first half, but it wasn’t enough for more. On the contrary, the point was quite lucky, Cologne was denied an initially regular hit by Florian Kainz.

TSG 1899 Hoffenheim – VfL Wolfsburg 3: 1 (1: 1), goals: 0: 1 Baku (25th), 1: 1 Kramaric (45th + 2), 2: 1 Baumgartner (74th), 3: 1 Kaderabek (81st)

Even before his game from Hoffenheim, coach Sebastian Hoeneß said of his attacker Andrej Kramaric on Sky TV: “I’m not worried and as long as we create a large number of chances, Andrej will score again.” No sooner said than done: Kramaric scored 1-1 against VfL Wolfsburg from a corner from David Raum from the second post. It was the first goal of the season for the strongest TSG attacker, so the extra shifts in training paid off. Christoph Baumgartner turned the game around in the second half and Pavel Kaderabek made it 3-1. On the other hand, the top striker remained surprisingly pale: After seven goals in six games against Hoffenheim, Wout Weghorst did not score this time. Instead, successful: Ridle Baku with a remarkable 25-meter shot.

1. FC Union Berlin – Arminia Bielefeld 1: 0 (0: 0), goal: 1: 0 Behrens (88.)

It’s a truism, but it was also true this Saturday: the fastest are not always the best. While the rest of the Bundesliga was calmly straightening their socks, Union Berlin and Arminia Bielefeld started playing football on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. sharp. But then it seemed as if the two teams were practicing their sport in Köpenick just as leisurely as the others had previously worked on their trousers. The logical result of the expandable Bundesliga game? Zero zero, of course – at least it looked like it for a long time. But two minutes before the final whistle, substitute striker Kevin Behrens rewrote the script with his acclaimed opening goal. A remarkable series continues: The Berliners have been unbeaten at the Alte Försterei for 20 Bundesliga games.

Here is the table of the Bundesliga.
