FC Bayern and Plan D: Who will be the new coach?

Ralf Rangnick’s cancellation puts FC Bayern under pressure. A new coach is still needed for the coming season. There can no longer be any talk of a first Munich election.
No Xabi Alonso. No Julian Nagelsmann. No Ralf Rangnick. The FC Bayern is still looking for a new coach for the coming season.
However, according to the current counting method used by Munich club patron Uli Hoeneß, Thomas Tuchel’s successor would only be the fourth choice. So who could it be?
Zinedine Zidane
The French football icon was actually off the table. One criterion when looking for a coach is that the new coach speaks at least English. “I don’t know if he speaks English,” sports director Max Eberl said recently, indicating that he had not spoken to the French 1998 world champion. After the three cancellations, could there be a rethink in the case of the former successful Real Madrid coach?
Roberto De Zerbi
The Italian has recently been repeatedly linked to Bayern – but never as the top solution. Has the status of the coach of English Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion changed now? A few weeks ago, however, De Zerbi declared that he didn’t want to leave Brighton at all. In any case, his contract in England runs until the summer of 2026.
Sebastian Hoeness
After Ralf Rangnick’s recent rejection, the successful coach of VfB Stuttgart was asked again about a possible commitment to FC Bayern. “Nothing has changed,” replied Uli Hoeneß’s nephew. So you can still “firmly assume” that he will also be the coach in Stuttgart next year. His new working paper is valid there until summer 2027.
Hansi Flick
The former national coach and Bayern coach is available. He was considered a possible successor to Xavi at FC Barcelona, but the Spaniard is continuing there. So a return to FC Bayern? People in Munich have not forgotten that the six-title coach left the record champions two years before his contract expired in order to become national coach in 2021.
