FC Augsburg has recorded an important victory in the relegation battle. With a spotless performance, Augsburg defeated VfL Wolfsburg surprisingly well 3-0 (1-0).
Iago (1st), Florian Niederlechner (63rd) and Mads Pedersen (69th) scored the goals for the Augsburg team. For Augsburg it was the first win after eight Bundesliga games without a win against VfL, who are still fighting relegation after their 15th defeat of the season. Augsburg improved to 14th place and is only two points behind the wolves.

Should the Lower Saxony afford further such weak performances as this afternoon in Augsburg, it should be very close again in the fight for relegation.
FCA now against Mainz on Wednesday
FCA will make up for the home game against Mainz 05 on Wednesday (06.04.2022, 6.30 p.m.) and can climb further up. Wolfsburg will play against Bielefeld on Saturday (3.30 p.m.) for the next duel against a direct competitor in the relegation battle.
