Bullet holes found on school wall

Two bullet holes were discovered on Monday morning on the metal enclosure wall of a nursery school in Lézignan-Corbières (Aude). Two people “residing in the possible trajectory of the weapon” were arrested and will be heard, told AFP Eric Camous, the public prosecutor of Narbonne.

Gendarmerie criminal identification technicians were dispatched to the scene, and are working in particular to identify the type of caliber that was used by the potential shooter(s). According to the first elements of the gendarmerie’s investigation, the shots were fired from outside the school during the weekend.

A search took place a few hours after this discovery, in a building near the school, added the Narbonne prosecutor’s office, specifying that a preliminary investigation had been opened. A listening unit was quickly set up within the school to reassure the children, their parents and the staff of the establishment.
