The performances of a “Macbeth” production in New York will be canceled in the coming days. The reason: positive corona tests in the ensemble.

Because of a corona virus infection of the British actor and longtime “James Bond” actor Daniel Craig (54), his new Broadway play “Macbeth”, which has just started, has to be paused again.

A corona test at Craig was positive, the organizers announced on Twitter on Saturday. There is also a “limited number” of other infections among those involved. All performances would therefore be canceled for the time being up to and including Thursday.

In the production of Shakespeare’s “Macbeth”, Craig plays the leading roles together with fellow actress Ruth Negga (40). The screenings in New York only began on Tuesday. Craig had appeared on Broadway several times before, including in 2013 in the play “Betrayal” with wife Rachel Weisz. Last year, Craig celebrated the world premiere of his fifth and final James Bond thriller, No Time To Die.
