The prequel to the Bridgerton series is taking shape. Netflix has released a first photo and title of the spin-off.

“Bridgerton” fans are eagerly awaiting the announced spin-off to the successful series. At Twitter Netflix has now revealed the title: “Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story”. The streaming service also released an image of India Amarteifio, 21, “who, along with the incomparable duo Golda Rosheuvel and Adjoa Andoh, will reveal Her Majesty’s origins,” the tweet said.

Amarteifio embodies the leading role of the young Queen Charlotte in the series. Corey Mylchreest plays her husband, King George. Up-and-coming talent Arsema Thomas embodies the young Agatha Danbury. Their “Bridgerton” actress Adjoa Andoh (59) and other faces known from the series such as Golda Rosheuvel (52) or Ruth Gemmell (54) are part of the party. Responsible for the production are Shonda Rhimes (52), Betsy Beers (65) and Tom Verica (58). The trio is also behind the successful parent series.

Netflix announced a Bridgerton spin-off in May 2021. The streaming service announced on Twitter at the time that the new series would focus on Queen Charlotte’s story. Viewers would also learn more about Lady Danbury, Duke Simon Basset’s mentor, and Violet Bridgerton. She is the mother of eight Bridgerton siblings.

The third season of “Bridgerton” will focus in particular on the love life of Lady Whistledown or Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan, 35) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton, 29). When season three will be shown is still unclear.
