The Bridgerton family is back: on March 25, the historical romance will enter the second round. The film adaptation of the novel was Netflix’s most successful series for a long time, only the South Korean drama “Squid Game” was able to push the aristocratic stories from the throne last year. This time Anthony Bridgerton’s love life is in the foreground.
As usual with “Bridgerton”, the second season will also be hot: sparks fly between Anthony and the self-confident Kate Sharma, played by Simone Ashley. But love life is not that simple. Actually, Anthony is supposed to marry Kate’s sister Edwina. There was a happy ending for Anthony’s sister Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor) last season. She will also stand by her brother in the second season – but not her husband and fan favorite Duke Simon, played by Regé-Jean Page. The actor decided to leave the series. The remaining Bridgerton men are doing their best to make up for the loss.
A lot of sex, various casting: “Bridgerton” causes discussions
In addition to the sex scenes, “Bridgerton” is also known for the diversity of the actors and actresses. A black queen caused a lot of discussion last season. Incidentally, in the novel by author Julia Quinn, the Sharma sisters are called Sheffield and are white – on Netflix it becomes the name Sharma, appropriate to the Indian origins of the actresses.
There will also be a reunion with Nicola Coughlan aka Penelope Featherington and Claudia Jessie as Eloise Bridgerton. The girlfriends brought humor to the show in season one. And of course the scheming Prudence Featherington and her daughters should not be missing. The first pictures show that the second season is just as opulent as before.
