Brad Pitt drives a racing car himself in a new film about Formula 1. However, not next to the right drivers.
Brad Pitt (59) drives a real racing car for his next film. On the fringes of the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, scenes for his as yet untitled film about Formula 1 are shot. This was revealed by producer Jerry Bruckheimer (79) and director Joseph Kosinski (49) according to “Variety” as part of the F1 Accelerate Summit. The event brings together those responsible for Formula 1 with greats from entertainment and business.
According to Will Buxton, the event’s host, the makers of the racing film are building an “eleventh team”. This should then compete from Silverstone (July 9, 2023) by the end of the year alongside the ten established racing teams. At least that’s what Buxton wrote down Twitter.
There was irritation in the racing scene. Will Formula 1 actually allow a new team to compete regularly with the field? And that just for one movie?
Brad Pitt is already training in a Mercedes car
At the request of the racing magazine “The Drive” Those responsible for Formula 1 put the statements into perspective. Brad Pitt will of course not compete in the real race and no, there will be no 11th team.
Nevertheless, Brad Pitt will probably climb into the cockpit of a real racing car, which he will then drive on the closed track. The car will be built by Mercedes, according to Will Buxton. Pitt and the other actors are said to be in training. According to “Variety”, it should not be a Formula 1 car, but rather one from Formula 2 or 3.

In any case, Jerry Bruckheimer and Joseph Kosinski promise the most authentic motorsport film of all time. While working on their joint film “Top Gun: Maverick” they created the “smallest moving 6k camera” ever. According to Buxton, it should bring the viewer directly into the cockpit.
In the film, Brad Pitt plays a former Formula 1 driver who returns to the racing world as a mentor to a young driver. Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton (38) will act as producer and consultant.
