Bompard welcomes Quatennens’ “sense of responsibility” after withdrawing his candidacy

Jean-Luc Mélenchon assures that he “obviously” welcomes Adrien Quatennens’ decision to withdraw his candidacy for the legislative elections in his northern constituency, but also expresses the “pain” he felt upon hearing the announcement. He also criticizes a “sentence of ineligibility” imposed by “I don’t know which committee”.

This decision to withdraw is, however, “to his credit. It is extraordinary to see a capable man, while he is going to an election where he has the greatest chance of being elected, to say ‘I do not want to be a problem for my cause and therefore I withdraw,'” he said on France 3.

The boss of the RN Jordan Bardella confirmed on Sunday that he wanted to “ultimately” privatize public broadcasting if the RN comes to power after the legislative elections.

The National Rally, if it comes to power, will remove the unemployment insurance reform that the government plans to bring into force at the end of the year, Jordan Bardella said on France 3 on Sunday.

The new unemployment insurance reform must be decided by decree by July 1 to come into force on December 1.
