Bleeding ears and nose: Delta passenger reports horror flight
There are problems with the cabin pressure on a Delta Air Lines flight – with drastic consequences for the people on board. A passenger reports.
After a flight that went wrong and caused passengers to bleed from their ears and noses due to pressure problems, according to media reports, the US airline Delta Air Lines has apologized to its customers. Delta said on Thursday that the plane was unable to regulate cabin pressure at an altitude of 10,000 feet on the flight from Salt Lake City to Portland. The plane then returned to Salt Lake City.
According to the airline, ten passengers were given medical treatment or examined after landing. Passengers told KSL TV that shortly after takeoff last Sunday, fellow passengers had been touching their heads in pain, and some had been bleeding from their noses or ears.
According to Delta, despite the loss of pressure, no oxygen masks fell from the ceiling. The Boeing 737-900 involved was repaired after the incident and returned to service the following day.
