After the body was found in Worms, investigators are asking the question: Did the 15-year-old’s parents have anything to do with it?

After the discovery of a dead 15-year-old girl on the banks of the Rhine in In Worms (Rhineland-Palatinate), the Mainz District Court has ordered the parents to be remanded in custody on suspicion of manslaughter. “There is a suspicion that the accused decided to kill their daughter because they did not agree with her lifestyle,” Mainz Police Headquarters announced on Tuesday. The 39-year-old father and 34-year-old mother are being held in different correctional facilities. According to the police, the parents and daughter are Afghan nationals.

According to investigators, the 15-year-old was found on Monday evening on the bank in the Rheindürkheim district of Worms. Evidence is being secured at the site of the discovery, as well as investigations into the apartments of those involved and the father’s vehicle. The vehicle was reportedly confiscated in Pirmasens and transported to Mainz. An autopsy to clarify the circumstances of the death is also scheduled to take place on Tuesday.

The crime is believed to have taken place on the banks of the Rhine on Saturday evening. The Mainz criminal police then found the body during a search.

According to police, there is no connection to a murder in Bensheim, Hesse, in which a woman is still missing. The body of a missing 40-year-old woman was found at a lake there at the weekend.
