The 2022 Met Gala will take place on May 2nd. Co-chairs this time include Blake Lively and husband Ryan Reynolds.
The fashion event of the year is expected for May 2nd. Then Hollywood stars and fashion lovers will be back on the red carpet at the Met Gala. The patron for years has been Anna Wintour (72), the editor-in-chief of the US American “Vogue”. As every year, the grande dame of the fashion world will once again have prominent co-chairs at her side in 2022.
At the “Costume Institute Gala” 2022, Blake Lively (34) and husband Ryan Reynolds (45) as well as fellow actors Regina King (51) and Lin-Manuel Miranda (42) will act as co-hosts. That was the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art on the Instagram page of the Costume Institute this Thursday (March 17th). Tom Ford (60), Adam Mosseri (39) and Wintour will also remain in office.
The Met Gala traditionally returns in May
The costume institute’s big gala, better known as the Met Gala, had to be canceled in 2020 due to the corona pandemic. Last year it took place in September, in 2022 it was again traditionally scheduled for the first Monday in May.
The galas not only generate a large part of the funds for the Costume Institute of the Metropolitan Museum of Art (Met) in New York. They also serve as the opening of the Institute’s annual fashion exhibition. In 2021, the first part of a two-part exhibition on American fashion took place, which is now being continued under the motto “In America: An Anthology of Fashion”. It will be open to the public from May 7th to September 5th.
