But there are no longer so many worlds in between when it comes to Verena Pausder. “When I grew up in Bielefeld, I could never have imagined that a startup scene would emerge there at some point,” says the investor and chairwoman of the Federal Association of German Startups. “Now you go there and think: Wow, what’s going on here?” Founders and their teams build robots and software for mechanical engineers there.
