At least one bird collides with a Lufthansa plane in the air. The plane, which is supposed to fly to Berlin, has to turn around.
A Lufthansa plane turned around shortly after takeoff from Frankfurt and returned to the airport due to a collision with one or more birds. The plane, which Berlin, landed safely on Tuesday evening, the airline said in response to a query. The crew and passengers were able to leave the plane in the normal way.
The airport fire brigade was dispatched as a precautionary measure, as is usual for such emergency landings. According to airport operator Fraport, other air traffic was not affected.
Passengers were given a replacement aircraft
It is unclear how badly the plane with flight number LH200 was damaged. The passengers were supposed to fly to the capital on a replacement plane.
