The South Korean manufacturer Samsung recently equipped some of its smartphones with the latest One UI 6.1.1 operating system. Now the company is bringing another, particularly important update to one of its popular models – albeit late.

According to the fan blog SamMobile Samsung has now provided the security update for September 2024 for the devices in the Galaxy S24 series – i.e. the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 Ultra. According to the source, the security update, which is intended to close a total of 67 security holes, is already available for models in Europe.

This is how you get the September 2024 Security Update

If you have a smartphone from the S24 series, you can check for the security update. To do this, go to Settings > Software Update. According to SamMobile, the update should be marked with firmware version S92xBXXS3AXHD and have a download size of 288 megabytes (Galaxy S24) to 451.53 megabytes (Galaxy S24 Ultra), depending on the model.

The September security update appears surprisingly late – after all, the security update for October should also be released soon. SamMobile cites the major operating system update to One UI 6.1.1, which Samsung recently started rolling out, as the reason for this relatively late release.

By the way: Other smartphones from the manufacturer are also currently receiving the security update for September 2024.
