In Berlin, the fire brigade went out on Wednesday evening for a large-scale operation in the Neukölln district. More than 120 firefighters were deployed to extinguish the flames. Even hours after the fire broke out, dark smoke was still rising from the building on Lahnstrasse. The plume of smoke could be seen for miles in many parts of the capital, moving south. “We can’t say much at the moment, but one thing is clear: this fire will keep us busy until tomorrow morning,” said a spokesman for the fire department of the “Berliner Zeitung”. According to consistent media reports, paper was stored in the hall.
