Joe Biden counterattacks. “I have always condemned political violence. I will always condemn it,” the former US president said on Monday, the day after a second alleged assassination attempt targeting Donald Trump, for which the latter held him responsible.
“In America, we settle our differences peacefully at the ballot box, not at gunpoint,” the Democratic president said, shortly after his Republican predecessor said of Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris: “Their rhetoric gets me shot.”
