Bicycles and scooters will be banned from the perimeter

If the idea takes you to do the Lyon Festival of Lights on electric scooters, forget about it right away. Not only does this risk being dangerous given the expected crowds, but they will simply be banned from circulation that evening. Same as bikes and cars.

The Rhône prefecture has delimited three perimeters where two-wheelers and soft modes of transport will be banned: the Lyon peninsula and Fourvière, the Tête d’Or park and the Blandan park. The measure will apply from 6 p.m. until midnight on December 8, 9 and 10 and from 4 p.m. on Sunday December 11.

A number of closed car parks

Parking inside these zones will also be prohibited. In fact, the Grôlée, Célestins, Saint-Antoine, Saint-Jean and Hôtel de Ville car parks will be completely closed. The Bourse, Antonin Poncet, République and Saint-Georges car parks will only be open when vehicles exit and are closed on entry, indicates Lyon Parc Auto.

Visitors are therefore strongly advised to favor public transport or walking. The opportunity to smash your daily step record…
