That’s how we jet through the city

Not every outfit is suitable for the bike.

With spring coming, many are swapping cars for bikes to cruise around town. It usually doesn’t look stylish. There’s another way.

Not only environmentally friendly, but also extremely practical: In the city, the bicycle is often the means of transport that is the fastest to get to your destination. But if you want to ride your bike (back) to the office or to an important appointment, you can’t wrap yourself in functional clothing. It doesn’t have to be, because dressing both bike-ready and presentable isn’t that difficult. The only drawback: the weather has to play along.

That is not how it works!

The first rule is: skirts that are too short, wide flared trousers that are currently trendy again, or elaborate hairstyles are taboo on the bike. After all, who would want their panties to flash at the passing cars, their pant legs to get caught in the spokes, or their hairstyle to be destroyed by the wind?

On the other hand, casual chino pants that end just above the ankles are ideal. Due to the slightly wider cut, it is no problem to pedal a little harder. The soft cotton fabric also ensures a comfortable fit. Particularly nice for spring: pants with a floral or tie-dye pattern.

If the temperatures play along, a feminine white blouse is often enough to complete the cycling outfit. Accessories do the rest: matching sunglasses and sandals or sneakers. If you don’t have a bicycle basket in which to transport your It-Bag, you can pack your utensils in a practical backpack.

Cold despite the sunshine?

If the sun is shining, but the morning temperatures are too cold for short sleeves, only one thing helps: a jacket is a must! The denim jacket is still the best choice, it goes with almost every outfit and provides the necessary warmth without breaking a sweat. The most important utensil is still the bicycle helmet, because safety comes first when you’re cycling in style!
