Beware of this fake tweet from an Argentina fan

A fake tweet that sparks accusations of racism. “When France wins, they are French but when they lose then these players are of African origin. Shame on France”, reacts a surfer in response to this message relayed on Facebook and Twitter, since the defeat of the Blues on Sunday against Argentina, while another denounces “the racism of the French press”.

This tweet points the finger at Aurélien Tchouaméni and Kingsley Coman, who failed in the penalty shootout. Several Internet users thought that it was written by RMC sport, because the name and the logo of the media appear in the tweet.

“Aurélien Tchouaméni, Cameroonian of origin, and Kingsley Coman, Franco-Guinean, both missed their shot on goal”, we read in this message.

This tweet was relayed by several accounts on Facebook.

FAKE OFF

This tweet was not written by the editorial staff of RMC, but by an anonymous account. Several indices let think it, like the error on the nationality of Kingsley Coman, who is not Franco-Guinean, but French. The logo used is an old RMC logo. The username of the account was not @RMCSport, which is the official account of this media, but @apericube_. A name that inspires little seriousness. An impression confirmed by the biography of the account, which defines itself as “troll”. Its host or host, who shows his support for Argentina, has also done a lot of cleaning: the original tweet has been deleted, the profile photo and the username changed.

Kingsley Coman was the victim of insults on his Instagram page after the defeat last night, while comments were disabled on Aurélien Tchouaméni’s account.
