Cyclist (44) died after a concrete mixer accident
She fought for her life for three days. As BILD learned, the cyclist (44), who fell under a concrete mixer on Monday in Berlin-Wilmersdorf, died in the hospital.
The accident has political proportions – and is highly explosive.
The rescue workers couldn’t get to the scene of the accident fast enough. Fire brigade forces with special equipment were stuck in traffic due to protests by climate demonstrators on the A100 city motorway and arrived late, which is why improvisation had to be made at the accident site, as the fire brigade emphasized. The woman was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The movement’s spokesman and activist, Jakob Beyer, said shortly thereafter on Deutschlandfunk that they were “dismayed” by the obstruction of a rescue operation at one of their protest rallies in Berlin. “We want to protect the lives of all people in all our actions.” But: It happens again and again that rescue vehicles are stuck in traffic and therefore do not arrive on time.

“We definitely don’t want to dismiss the responsibility,” emphasized the climate activist. “But we don’t want to be ignored anymore.”
Radical climate extremists initially even defended the action. Tadzio Müller wrote about the incident on Twitter: “Shit, but don’t be intimidated. It’s a climate fight, not a climate hug, & shit happens.” He later deleted the tweet and apologized for the wording.
