Benzema shoots Real’s 1000th Champions League goal – sport

The French national soccer player Karim Benzema saved Real Madrid from another home defeat in the Champions League. In the 2: 1 (1: 1) against the still victorious Ukrainian runner-up Shakhtar Donetsk, the attacker managed a double on Wednesday (14./62.). The 1-0 win was a special hit, because it was Madrid’s 1000th premier class goal. No other team has been able to score four figures in the highest European club competition. The Madrilenians, who lost 2-1 to FC Sheriff Tiraspol in the first game at the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu, consolidate their top position in Group D with their third win and now nine points. Toni Kroos and David Alaba were in the for Real Madrid Starting XI. Donetsk, however, showed a courageous performance, but nothing more than Fernando’s interim equalizer did not jump out (39th).

AC Milan are still waiting for their first win. Due to the 1-1 (0: 1) against FC Porto, the chances of the bottom of group B to reach the round of 16 diminish. The Portuguese took the lead through Luis Diaz (6th), before Chancel Mbemba scored in their own goal and thus gave Milan the first point (61st).
