Before the DFB Cup final in the evening (8 p.m./ZDF and Sky), the head of the club warmed up the fans at Berlin’s Breitscheidplatz. “You have the city under control. You rock this thing. Today you are giving Frankfurt, the region and all of football Germany a great day,” Fischer shouted from the stage at the official Eintracht fan festival, where tens of thousands of fans were present in the afternoon .
Fischer, who is leaving in early 2024 after 23 years, also attacked final opponents RB Leipzig. “Who isn’t for Eintracht Frankfurt tonight? All of our Bundesliga opponents are keeping their fingers crossed for us. You’re living proof of the absolutely traditional club,” said the 67-year-old.
