After the Oprah interview and the alleged racism allegations, Duchess Meghan is said to have written a letter to Harry’s father Charles.

Prince Harry (38) and his wife Duchess Meghan (41) gave an explosive interview to US talk icon Oprah Winfrey (69) in spring 2021. In it, Meghan claimed there were “concerns and conversations within the royal family about how dark Archie’s skin might be when he’s born.”

However, she did not want to reveal who is said to have made the relevant statements, as that would be “too harmful” for the person concerned. As “The Telegraph” now reports, after the Oprah interview, she is said to have voiced her concerns about these talks and the “unconscious bias” to King Charles III. (74) revealed in a letter. In it, she is said to have revealed the identity of the person in question and stated that the comment “was not made maliciously”. Meghan’s post is said to have been in response to a letter from Charles expressing sadness at the division within the family.

A source also explained “Page Six“: “Yes, there was correspondence, there were letters between the Duchess of Sussex and the King.” However, the Duchess has now come to terms with it. “That was two years ago, it has nothing to do with her decision, not with the attend the coronation.”

No attendance at coronation

While Prince Harry attended the coronation of King Charles III on May 6th. in London, his son Archie (3) will be celebrating his birthday back home in California on the same day. As it became known in mid-April, Duchess Meghan is probably staying in the United States with the couple’s two children for this reason.

In an interview with ITV earlier this year, Prince Harry denied that he and Meghan had accused the royal family of racism on TV. “The British press said so,” he stressed. “Did Meghan ever mention ‘they are racists’?” Harry went on to explain that there is a “difference between racism and unconscious bias…the two things are different. As an individual or as an institution, when you recognize or have been made aware that you have unconscious bias, you have an opportunity to learn from it and to grow… Otherwise, unconscious prejudice will turn into racism.”
