With the next Corona regulation, Lower Saxony wants to take a step towards the 2G rule. Prime Minister Stephan Weil (SPD) made this clear in the state parliament in Hanover.

Gastronomy, cultural and sports facilities should be able to choose whether they only let in vaccinated and convalescent people – or whether they adhere to the 3G rule and also let in people with a negative corona test. With 2G, in return, the distance and mask requirement would fall. “This gives operators the opportunity to make their guests’ stay more comfortable without reducing security,” said the Prime Minister. The 2G rule has already ensured that discotheques in Lower Saxony are no longer drivers of infection. Lower Saxony wants to take a step towards normalizing public life, said the SPD politician. The draft for the next Corona regulation is currently being worked on. The current one expires on September 22nd.

Because: pandemic of the “unvaccinated adults”

Weil once again made the importance of vaccination clear in his government statement. He spoke of a pandemic of “unvaccinated adults”. A large number of people who have to be treated with a corona infection in intensive care units are not vaccinated. If vaccinated people no longer pose a risk, then restrictions are no longer justified for them, according to the SPD politician.
