Bayreuth: 14-year-old escapes from the police in grandpa’s car – Bavaria

He stole his grandfather’s car and then fled from the police: A patrol caught a 14-year-old at the wheel of a vehicle in Upper Franconia. The youngster first stole his grandfather’s car and then attached two stolen license plates to it, the police said on Thursday.

The patrol wanted to stop the vehicle on Wednesday night on Autobahn 9 between Hof and Bayreuth. But the driver had accelerated and drove partly further south at 170 kilometers per hour.

With the support of other strips, the young person was reportedly stopped at the Bayreuth-Süd exit. Apparently he wanted to go to Ingolstadt to visit a friend.

The 14-year-old is now expected to face criminal proceedings for driving without a license, forgery of documents and other offenses. In addition, according to the police, the youth welfare office was informed of the incident.
