FC Bayern is in the quarter-finals of the DFB Cup. Mainly thanks to a convincing first half, Munich defeated FSV Mainz 05 4-0 (3-0). It is the record champions’ first victory after the winter break, in the league FC Bayern have recently played 1-1 three times in a row.
Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting (17th minute), Jamal Musiala (30th), Leroy Sané (44th) and Alphonso Davies (83rd) scored the goals. Access João Cancelo was an immediate starter and set up the opening goal with a fine cross. In the final phase of the game, Alexander Hack (yellow-red) and coach Bo Svensson (red) were sent off at Mainz.
