For months, false corona statistics on the incidence of infection in vaccinated and unvaccinated people were published in Bavaria, as in Hamburg. How did this happen and why is no one taking responsibility?

This story about the Bavarian state government exceptionally begins in Hamburg. Mayor Peter Tschentscher (SPD) did something there on Tuesday that is a rarity among politicians: he apologized after the city had reported false corona incidences of vaccinated and unvaccinated people for months. After a meeting of the Senate, Tschentscher said: “We would like to justify our measures in a plausible and convincing manner – and that includes correct figures.” He very much regrets the uncertainty that has arisen as a result.
