Bavaria’s oldest boat was built around 3150 years ago and is almost seven meters long. A diver discovered the dugout 170 meters from the shore near Wasserburg, and in 2018 specialists recovered it from Lake Constance. Experts from the Archaeological State Collection in Munich conserved the wood in a complicated process: the side walls have been lost in the water over the centuries, the dugout today looks like an oversized surfboard.
