The police were initially unable to provide any information about the results of the interrogation. The questions as to whether the alleged perpetrator was armed and whether it was actually a hostage situation remained open. There was also no information on the man’s psychological state or possible motives. The investigation continues.

Because of the incident, the A 9 was closed in both directions on Tuesday evening between Hilpoltstein and Greding. The police spoke of a “threat situation” that triggered a major police operation with the participation of forces from the Special Operations Command (SEK). They had accessed after an hour-long large-scale operation in which dozens of officials were involved. the image reported detonations. According to a police spokesman, these were due to blinding agents that the SEK used to distract the perpetrator. He was arrested “without resistance”.

“According to the current state of the investigation, there was a physical argument between several passengers in the bus for reasons that have not yet been clarified, with two people being slightly injured,” the police announced that evening. The suspect threatened to kill everyone on the bus. The alarm report was received by the police shortly after 5 p.m.

The white coach is the only vehicle on the A 9 on Tuesday evening. The motorway was completely closed because of the alleged hostage-taking.

The bus came to a stop on the hard shoulder between the Hilpoltstein and Greding junctions, and the passengers were able to get off. Three bus drivers and the later arrested man who said he had a gun remained in the vehicle that was heading towards Munich and Serbia.

A police negotiating group tried to resolve the situation. She contacted the bus drivers via mobile phone, who were then also able to get off the bus. At around 9:30 p.m., police officers were able to arrest the suspect on the bus. A weapon has not yet been found.

In the meantime, there were no trains running on the nearby Munich-Nuremberg ICE line. The closure of the motorway was lifted again in the course of the evening.
