The situation in the hospitals is getting worse. On Thursday, the central registry for intensive care beds reported 521 corona patients in the Bavarian intensive care units. That is almost twice as many as two weeks ago and a good 60 more than on Tuesday. 281 people received invasive ventilation. This means that 90 percent of the beds are now occupied. Nationwide, only 119 “Covid-specific intensive care beds” were free – these are beds that are equipped with ventilators for the seriously ill. “We see a dynamic of development that is very, very clear,” said Bavaria’s Minister of Health, Klaus Holetschek, of the SZ.
