It is well known that Hubert Aiwanger does not want to be vaccinated – but the debate on this is gaining momentum, also because of the latest statement by the Bavarian Minister of Economics that there is a threat of an “apartheid discussion”.
The hustle and bustle was great CSU General Secretary Markus Blume tweeted that a comparison of corona vaccinations and racial segregation was “unacceptable” and “unsuitable for a deputy prime minister”. Aiwanger corrected that he had only wanted to warn against a “rash approach to vaccination policy”, which would provide anti-vaccination campaigners with “ammunition” and could spark an apartheid debate. In any case, they indignantly reject the accusation of his free voters across the ranks that their boss might want to fish in the AfD camp on the vaccination issue with a view to the federal election and the ambitions of the FW.
But now it’s getting really thick for Aiwanger: Suspicion of plagiarism – as it is a popular topic of excitement in these election campaign times, see Annalena Baerbock. A spokesman for the AfD parliamentary group announced on Friday that the term apartheid in the context of vaccination is a “wording steal from Aiwanger”.
Their MP Andreas Winhart stated in a press release on Tuesday afternoon: “Söder is sending Bavaria into vaccination apartheid.” The media, including the SZ, had named Aiwanger and not Winhart as the originator and “legalized” the theft. Nobody has a patent on the term, but it is incorrect to “give priority to the plagiarist”.
