Bavaria: ADAC expects traffic jams around public holidays – Bavaria

According to the ADAC, shortly before Christmas, Bavaria’s autobahns should be full for several days. The association said on Monday in Munich that the roads would probably reach their capacity limits on Thursday and Friday in particular. While it should be quieter again on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, there was a risk of many traffic jams again on December 26 due to the return traffic.

According to the ADAC forecast, it will still be full at the beginning of the Christmas holidays – including on the A3 Frankfurt-Nuremberg-Passau, the A8 Stuttgart-Munich-Salzburg or the A9 Munich-Nuremberg-Berlin. In the direction of the Alps, the association expects fewer motorists this year than in previous years. The reason: skiing holidays have become significantly more expensive, and trips abroad have also become more expensive. The association therefore expects less traffic in popular winter sports regions than usual.

Nevertheless, the automobile club expects full motorways in the direction of the ski areas. These are about the A93 Inntaldreieck-Kufstein and the A95 to Garmisch-Partenkirchen. In Austria, Switzerland and Italy, the ADAC also warns of longer waiting times on the access roads to the alpine ski areas.
