Bamberg and Coburg: flooding in Bavaria threatens houses – Bavaria

Persistent rain has caused rivers to burst their banks in parts of Upper Franconia. The districts of Bamberg and Coburg were particularly affected, said the Bavarian flood intelligence service (HND) on Monday. For example, some fields were flooded in Großmarriage near Coburg. According to the HND, the Itz has already reached reporting level 3 in the districts of Bamberg and Coburg. This poses a risk of flooding for built-up areas.

According to the German Weather Service (DWD), the precipitation should shift south on Monday afternoon and evening. For Swabia and Upper Bavaria, the meteorologists predicted heavy clouds and some rain and snow. On Tuesday it should mostly stay dry with highs between one and eight degrees.
