Ballet in Wonderland in Munich – Munich

Many people were looking forward to this revival. Christopher Wheeldon’s “Alice in Wonderland” returns to the Bavarian State Opera. And with her the Cheshire Cat, the Hatter, the Queen of Hearts and many, many more, because with around 150 roles to be filled, this opulent ballet fairy tale, which premiered at the Royal Ballet in London in 2011, requires the involvement of the entire ensemble of the Bavarian State Ballet. The Bavarian Junior Ballet Munich and the students of the Ballet Academy of the University of Music and Theater are also on stage.

In the current series, which will be played on October 12th, 14th and 15th, there are also a number of interesting role models. On October 14th, for example, Madison Young dances as Alice, Shale Wagman can be seen as Carroll/White Rabbit, António Casalinho dances as Hatter and the new first soloist, Jakob Feyferlik, introduces himself to the Munich audience as Jack/Jack of Hearts. For everyone who can’t make it to the National Theater: The evening performance on Sunday is also available as a free live stream on Staatsoper.tv.

Alice in Wonderland, Bavarian State Ballet, October 12th, 14th and 15th (live stream), 7.30 p.m. on October 15th, also at 2 p.m., tickets available at www.staatsoper.de
