Goyo Montero has been ballet director and chief choreographer of the Nuremberg dance division since the 2008/2009 season and has since created what has long been called the “Nuremberg ballet miracle”. After his career as a dancer, including as first soloist at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the small Spaniard made the Middle Franconian metropolis one of the leading dance addresses in Germany with his very own signature, to which he always adds new facets. The Bavarian State Ministry for Science and Art has now awarded him the “Pro Meritis Scientiae et Litterarum” award for this.
