The railway and transport union rejected Deutsche Bahn’s third offer late on Tuesday evening. Instead, the ECG the DB invited to new negotiations for this Wednesday. However, the group rejects this.

Are new strikes threatening?

A ballot, which could result in indefinite strikes, is not off the table yet.

The railway has announced wage increases of 12 percent in stages for the lower wage groups. The middle groups should get ten percent more, the upper groups eight percent. There is also a gradual inflation compensation premium totaling EUR 2,850 net. The term is 24 months.
The union, on the other hand, demands a fixed amount of at least 650 euros per month more or twelve percent for the upper wage brackets. According to their ideas, the term should only be twelve months. One-time payments rejected the ECG strictly off so far. The two sides are still far apart.
