Marisa Abela is not yet a big name in the international acting world. Apparently she could soon embody Amy Winehouse.
So far, Marisa Abela (25) has not been seen in too many productions. But this role could possibly help her to world fame: According to consistent media reports, she is supposed to embody the singer Amy Winehouse (1983-2011), who died much too early, in the upcoming biopic “Back to Black”.
Abela is at the top of the list of candidates for the role, several sources would have confirmed the US industry magazine “Variety”.. Also the industry portal “Deadline” reports citing insiders that the aspirant was apparently the desired actress. It is not officially known if the actress is already in negotiations for the role.

With the blessing of the singer’s family, a major feature film about Winehouse is to be made more than ten years after her death, as previously announced. The biopic about the life of the Brit has the full support of the heirs, reported “Deadline” a few weeks ago. Accordingly, the “Fifty Shades of Gray” director Sam Taylor-Johnson (55) should direct.
Most recently, Abela shone in the series “Industry”. She will also appear in the “Barbie” film alongside stars such as Margot Robbie (32), Ryan Gosling (41) and Will Ferrell (55). However, it is currently unknown which character she plays in it and whether it is a minor or major role.
