Aying – Bahn defends passages in Peiß and Dürrnhaar – district of Munich

Deutsche Bahn, as the operator of the Munich S-Bahn, defends the timetables on the east branch of the S 7. Representatives of the S 7 East-plus initiative and Aying’s mayor Peter Wagner (CSU) had criticized the fact that many of the additional trains used between Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn and Aying run every 20 minutes, do not stop at the stations in the Aying districts of Dürrnhaar and Peiß. According to a railway spokesman, this is mainly due to “infrastructural reasons” that are a result of the single track on this route.

In this area, S-Bahn trains could only pass each other in the double-track stations and only at certain times. The fact that there is only one track also means that a continuous 20-minute cycle cannot be ensured in the section between Aying and Kreuzstraße, according to the railway spokesman. “The additional time for further stops at these less frequented stations would make the timetable much more susceptible to delays and would no longer allow the connection to the Mangfalltalbahn in Kreuzstraße, which is currently ensured,” the spokesman continued.
