Aya Nakamura releases “DNK”, her fourth album

On Friday, Aya Nakamura releases her 4th album entitled DNK. Francophone number one in the world, the singer returns to the stage after her appearance in court for reciprocal violence with her ex-companion. This new swaying r’n’b album should allow her to shine the crown she has worn since the success of Djadja.

Released in 2018, Djadja, a song with global echoes, has more than 900 million views on YouTube and has even made Madonna’s children dance, as we have seen on social networks. At the time of the release of his previous opus, Ayah, in the fall of 2020, the artist born in Bamako (Mali) and who grew up in Aulnay-sous-Bois, in the suburbs of Paris, appeared on the XXL screens of Times Square in New York.

A lawsuit in progress

The 27-year-old singer plays in the big leagues. She delivered an interactive show at the end of 2022 in Fortnite, a video game blockbuster fond of this kind of collaboration. This type of gateway is reserved for global megastars, such as American rapper Travis Scott or Brazilian football star Neymar. The Lollapalooza Paris festival, which is part of an international franchise, has also scheduled it at the end of July 2023 on the same evening as Kendrick Lamar, juggernaut of US hip-hop.

Collision of agendas, DNK appears this Friday while the day before, the singer and producer Vladimir Boudnikoff, her ex-companion and father of one of her two daughters, appeared before a court in the Paris region for “violence by spouse with ITT (temporary incapacity for work ) of less than eight days”. A fine of five thousand euros was required against her, 2,000 euros against him. The deliberation will be delivered on February 23.

Number of songs by DNK only talk about storms in the couple. “We only got confused”, “it became toxic baby” we hear from the first title, corazon (heart, in Spanish).

It makes sense to play on transparency since DNK refers to Dianoko, her surname (Nakamura is a nod to a character from the American series heroes). The artist who bathed in music within a family of griots only digs the same furrow, “the feeling of love in all these facets”, as she explained at the end of 2020.
