Axel Kahn, geneticist and former president of the League against cancer, is dead

Geneticist and essayist Axel Kahn died at the age of 76 after battling cancer, the Cancer League announced on Tuesday, from which he had recently left the presidency because of his illness. “It is with sadness and emotion that the League against cancer has just learned of the death of Axel Kahn,” said this organization in a brief press release.

Axel Kahn announced last May that he had cancer. Asked about France Inter, he claimed to have said goodbye to his relatives, before posting a farewell text on Facebook. “Smiling and peaceful, I say goodbye to you, friends,” he wrote on May 20.
