Axel Bartelt is the new Fischer President – Bavaria

The new President of the Bavarian State Fishing Association (LFV), Axel Bartelt, emphasized in his inaugural speech to the fishermen that he would advocate regulation of otters in Bavaria. The martens continued to spread and made life difficult for the pond owners, but also increasingly for anglers, said Bartelt on Saturday before the general meeting of the LFV in Oberschleißheim near Munich. He therefore welcomes the initiative by Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) to make it easier not only to shoot wolves, but also otters.

Previously, Bartelt had been elected almost unanimously as the new President of Fishermen. The 66-year-old former president of the government of the Upper Palatinate succeeds the hydraulic engineer Albert Göttle, who headed the LFV for ten years and retired for reasons of age. Minister of Agriculture Michaela Kaniber (CSU), who is also responsible for fisheries in Bavaria, recognized Göttle for his services and awarded him the silver state medal.
