Anyone who has a name in Hollywood is a guest in Beverly Hills today – the Golden Globes will be presented there for the 80th time. After massive criticism, this time there should be a greater focus on diversity.

Big crowd of stars at the Golden Globes: Many celebrities arrived at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills yesterday evening (local time) shortly before the start of the trophy show.

Model Heidi Klum, in a shiny silver mini dress, brought her husband Tom Kaulitz. Margot Robbie appeared in a pink gown, Jamie Lee Curtis in a black outfit. James Cameron, Steven Spielberg, Eddie Murphy, Salma Hayek, Hilary Swank and Michelle Yeaoh were among the many filmmakers strolling past photographers.

The Globe trophies in 27 film and television categories from the Association of Foreign Press (HFPA) are presented for the 80th time. The broadcaster NBC wants to broadcast the gala live again.

Last January, NBC canceled traditional TV broadcasts. Nominees stayed away from the event, which is usually full of stars. The names of the winners were only announced via the HFPA association’s social media accounts. The reason for this was, among other things, massive criticism of the association for a lack of diversity. As part of a restructuring, the pool of Globe jurors has now become larger and more diverse.
