Auto industry – relocation to low-cost countries – economy

car industry:Relocation to low-cost countries

According to the IG Metall trade union, there is a risk of jobs being relocated from Germany to Eastern Europe. “The subject of relocation to low-wage countries is unfortunately an unbroken trend,” said the district manager of IG Metall Baden-Württemberg, Roman Zitzelsberger. Many companies used the change to electromobility as an excuse to relocate the manufacture of existing and new products abroad. The industry will only remain successful if, in addition to development, sales and service, production remains in the country. Securing good jobs in the course of structural change is a central demand of the nationwide day of action of IG Metall on October 29th. The trade unionists in Stuttgart are expecting around 10,000 participants on the day of action.
