Authorization for principals to access pupils’ vaccination status is “common sense” for Aurore Bergé

Is an “unthinkable breach” in medical secrecy lodged in the law of “health vigilance”, which received the green light from the Assembly last night? This is in any case what denounces the deputy LR Philippe Gosselin, criticizing the amendment which allows the heads of secondary schools to know the vaccination status of the students of their establishment.

“It does not seem to me to be the role of a teacher to control the health situation of children,” adds Socialist Senator Patrick Kanner, “very reserved” on the measure. In theory, the text aims to “facilitate the organization of screening and vaccination campaigns”, in order to avoid class closures. Currently, if there is a contact case in a class, “you only have a certificate on the honor of the parents” to know the vaccination status of the child, justifies Aurore Bergé.

MP LREM defends “a common sense measure” to protect adolescents. “There is the risk that all the sworn statements are not true,” she emphasizes.
