Australian Open live in the ticker: Djokovic, Murray and Siegemund fight for the round of 16

On the sixth day of competition at the Australian Open in Melbourne, the next third round matches will continue.

In the night session, the two superstars Novak Djokovic (No. 4) and Andy Murray will serve, among others. The Serb meets Grigor Dimitrov (No. 27), Murray meets Roberto Bautista Agut (No. 24).

Laura Siegemund, the last German in the tournament, is also in action. Who will buy the next round of 16 tickets?

10:53 a.m. – Siegemund – Garcia 6: 1, 3: 6, 2: 1

Siegemund has recovered after the rebreak and wins her service without any major problems. Garcia also sprints through her next service game. With zero she wins the service. Garcia keeps going strong. The French serves very well and hardly lets Siegemund score. The German can still prevent the loss of the set with her own serve. But shortly afterwards Garcia has the first set balls. With a service winner, she also gets the second round.

10:21 a.m. – Djokovic – Dimitrov 6: 6

Djokovic looks battered. The Serb has been struggling with hamstring problems for some time now and it seems that certain movements are making themselves felt. For Dimitrov this means that he can carry out his service safely. It also gets tighter when Djokovic serves. But Dimitrov does not use two set balls. With an ace, the Serb saves himself in the tie-break.

Garcia is really in the game now. The Frenchwoman wins her service game to zero. The German continues to serve strong, but Garcia is really playing top-level tennis. Two breakballs are the result for the French. She has discarded the mistakes from the first set. And of course she doesn’t miss it. Break for Garcia!

Djokovic also has a few more problems now. With his own service, he is quickly 0:30 behind. He fights back but Dimitrov creates a break chance. Djokovic pulls a forehand into the baseline and thus concedes the rebreak. The sentence seemed almost certain to go to the Serbs. But Dimitrov countered strongly.

10:07 a.m. – Siegemund – Garcia 6: 1, 2: 2

Siegemund has to fight a little more for her service. Garcia comes into play better and forces the German to debut. The French increases the pressure and earns the first breakball. But she leaves them unused. With a strong passing ball, Siegemund finally gets their game to 2:2.

10:04 a.m. – Djokovic – Dimitrov 5: 4

Djokovic is no longer naked. The Serb holds his break without any problems and extends his lead. When Dimitrov serves, Djokovic also takes a 30-0 lead. But the Bulgarian can fight his way back into service. He finally puts a forehand out, Djokovic thus receives the first set ball. However, Dimitrov gets the important point to start with the backhand. He also fends off set points number two and three. With an ace, he then reduced to 5:4.

Garcia can then surely win her first service game in the second set. But Siegemund is still good in the game. The German also benefits from the many unforced errors of her opponent, who has already made 19 mistakes. Thus, Siegemund also confidently wins their service to 1:1.

9:47 a.m. – Djokovic – Dimitrov 4: 2

Murray meanwhile clearly lost the first set against Bautista Agut 1:6. The Scot was then unable to turn the sentence. Dimitrov has to fight again on his own serve.
